The Story Behind the Pose is a collection of stories from historical yoga texts. Many poses in asana practice depict characters and elements from these stories. Taken from the Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana these selected stories bring yoga poses to life and give them context. This workshop will focus on the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), the foundational poses, the story of Hanuman, and how Surya Namaskar came to be.
